The use of artificial intelligence (AI) has been largely invisible until now, automating processes and improving performance in the background. Despite the unprecedented adoption curve of generative AI, which is transforming the way humans interact with technology through natural language and conversation, it represents a reversible paradigm that will change the face of technology for a lifetime.
According to a study of generative artificial intelligence’s economic potential, if it is adopted to its full potential, artificial intelligence could increase the global economy by about 4 trillion dollars and the UK economy by about 31 billion pounds in GDP within the next decade.
There is also a predicted $11 trillion increase in global GDP from non-generative AI as well as other forms of automation, which will also contribute to these figures.
With great change comes great opportunity – so caution is justified but excitement is also justified – because great change comes great opportunity.
