Sam Altman Hits Pause on ChatGPT Plus Sign-Ups Amid Overwhelming Demand

 

According to OpenAI’s Chief Executive Officer Sam Altman, the company has temporarily reduced the number of new subscribers for its ChatGPT Plus service due to overwhelming demand and would like to thank those who attended the event.

It has been revealed in a recent posting on X (formerly Twitter) that OpenAI’s CEO Sam Altman has revealed that the influx of users as a result of DevDay has caused ChatGPT to face capacity issues as a result of the demand for ChatGPT. 

To address these issues, OpenAI has decided to temporarily pause the signup process for ChatGPT Plus to ensure that existing subscribers remain satisfied with the quality of their experience on the platform.

At the event of OpenAI’s first developer conference, which took place last week, the company announced several new features and upgrades, including the ability to create custom versions of ChatGPT to meet the needs of specific users.
